Painting by Henryk Siemiradzki The Judgement of Paris from collection of National Museum in Warsaw. Full scale replica of original artwork.

The puzzles were printed with the offset technique and finished with a glossy laminate to ensure perfect color reproduction. Made on thick (1.75 mm) bookbinding cardboard. The technique we use ensures a tight fit of the elements and perfectly smooth surface of the assembled image.

All our puzzles are printed in limited series - about 200 copies of each picture.

Jigsaw puzzle as well as packaging were made in Poland. Each copy is packed in handmade box, without the use of plastic bags and foil - they have been replaced with elegant, branded cotton bags and paper safety stickers.

Due to the course of the production process, the puzzles are printed in 4 parts and then combined after cutting the pattern. As a result of printing defect, this picture has a minor difference in shade between the sheets. The differences occur on the right side of the picture - vertically and in 2 lowest rows - horizontally. Please see the photos of the product for details.

The Artist - Henryk Siemiradzki (1843-1902):

A painter born in Novobelgorod (today Pechenihy) in the current territory of Ukraine. His father was a high-ranking officer of the Army of the Russian Empire, but his children were raised in the Polish tradition. He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Petersburg; then he went to Italy and lived in Rome for a few years. He was a member of many European academies. He took inspirations for his works from antiquity. In 1879, he offered his painting Nero’s Torches to the city of Kraków as the first work to be kept in the Kraków National Museum. He was the author of many paintings and created the decorative curtains of the Municipal Theatre in Kraków (1894) and the Grand Theatre in Lviv (1900). His paintings are kept mainly in Russian galleries and museums and in museums in Lviv, Kraków and Warsaw.

The Artwork - The Judgement of Paris:

Oil on canvas, painted in 1892. It shows the mythological scene of the judgement of Paris as a pantomime played on the terrace of a Roman palace. The scene presents the goddess Aphrodite as the winner of the contest, with the golden apple in her hand. The painting is characterised by great attention to detail and the faithful reproduction of historical Roman reality.
